Surreal Estate is an undemanding show about ghosts, drawing comparisons to Supernatural and Ghostbusters. It’s pleasant enough to view, though I think the initial run of episodes surpasses what came later. The second season seems to be subtly emphasizing feminist themes and empowerment, which detracts from the upbeat group dynamic that was present earlier on. Ultimately, it's an acceptable but not particularly memorable Canadian supernatural program. It’s easy enough to pass the time with, but would have benefited from avoiding the progressive messaging that impacts season two.
