Synopsis

A rift has formed between Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott since her marriage to Matthew, yet they have little time to consider the growing distance in their professional lives. A disturbing visit from a prospective client abruptly shifts their focus, presenting a new case: reports of a child who has been strangled. And so, Robin and Strike begin their investigation.
