I recently finished watching Stranger Things, and here's how I felt about each season: **Season 1: 10/10** - It was an instant classic. The show transported me to the 80s with a captivating story, memorable characters, and intriguing mysteries! I even made a mental note that I’d eventually buy the Blu-Ray set. **Season 2: 7/10** - Still pretty good. That Blu-Ray box set remains on my wish list. **Season 3: 6/10** - There were some problems starting to show, but they weren't significant enough to derail the momentum built by seasons one and two. I was still planning on buying the Blu-Ray; some great series have weaker seasons. **Season 4: 4/10** - Eddie Munson basically saved a season that would otherwise have been unwatchable, pulling it up from a 0/10 to a 4/10. But once "THE MESSAGE" became the central focus, my hope for owning the Blu-Ray disappeared. **Season 5: 0/10** - The actual story took a backseat to lengthy explanations, speeches, and agendas. Even though it had some of the best moments of the entire season, the finale couldn't redeem its decline. The ending felt hollow, and ultimately didn’t respect my investment as a viewer. I found myself speeding through most of the episodes just to get it over with. It would take an incentive for me to watch this series again, and there’s no way I’m adding the Blu-Ray set to my collection. I'm relieved that it's finished because it reached its peak early on, lingered too long, and was the last series I watched week by week (or drop by drop). Because of this series and a few others that prioritized something other than storytelling since 2015, I’m now setting some rules before starting any new show: 1) Don't start watching an unfinished series that might get interrupted by cancellation or unwanted messaging to damage the story. 2) Wait until a series is complete and reviews confirm it maintained its quality and respected viewers' time. Calculating the season scores (10 + 7 + 6 + 4 + 0)/5 gives us 5.4, which I’m rounding down because of how much time it consumed (it would have been rounded up if the story had come first).
