Synopsis

A familiar frustration tightened in Addy’s chest as Karl stubbornly guarded the game, refusing to let her join in. He clutched it close, his face set in an expression of possessiveness she found increasingly irritating. Meanwhile, Karl himself was wrestling with a different kind of disappointment; the toy robot he'd eagerly awaited arrived, but its appearance and capabilities fell far short of what he’d imagined.
