The prospect of the holiday season filled Elias with a familiar dread. He envisioned the endless to-do lists, the forced cheer, the suffocating closeness of family gatherings – a veritable onslaught of obligation. This year, however, he had a plan. A meticulously crafted scheme designed to circumvent the very things that made the season so unbearable. He and his sister, Lyra, had spent weeks plotting. Their strategy was simple: disappear. Not entirely, but enough to escape the anticipated bar
