Having experienced season 4, I’m beginning to understand what the creative team was going for. It seems they're deliberately ridiculing Star Trek enthusiasts by producing some truly dreadful material. The show incorporates elements of every poor science fiction story from the past three decades—unimaginative new settings abound. It gives the impression that the writers have a deep dislike for this series, and are attempting to damage the franchise’s reputation, even more so than Scott Bakula did. I honestly can't imagine anyone finding enjoyment in this mess. Even the actors must be concerned about their careers, perhaps envisioning themselves appearing in advertisements for products like hemorrhoid cream. It feels akin to watching cartoons, puppets, or a daytime soap opera.
