What's peculiar about this show is the idea that it’s so unlike *Picard* and *Discovery*. From what I understand, it employs basically the same group of people who developed those other recent Star Trek installments. I feel the writing isn't particularly good; it has plot inconsistencies and feels predictable in its progressive messaging. While they seem to have lessened the overt political correctness, it’s still present—a fussy, preachy, insistent, and overly sentimental thing. After watching a single episode, I decided that was sufficient reason to stop watching. To me, this is just a superficial imitation of original Star Trek, lacking the strong storytelling, humor, and genuine appeal that established the initial series as a science fiction classic. It’s simply not like “Jim Kirk” or anything remotely similar.
