I'll admit, I approached this with low expectations, and those were certainly met. It’s another example of that trendy, socially conscious science fiction that just doesn’t work, and it feels like a missed opportunity to try something different. The audience reception on Discovery seems to confirm that this isn’t a winning combination. There are some good points though; the visuals are stunning—the CGI is truly top-notch. However, impressive graphics aren't enough to carry a show. Simply bringing back actors from popular shows of the nineties doesn’t guarantee success either; perhaps there was a reason those characters and series resonated with viewers in the first place. Ultimately, it's just more of this unnecessary progressive content that people didn’t request and are hoping will end soon. I am curious to see how quickly my comments will be attacked, likely by an angry marketing professional with dyed blue hair.
