This show sets a new standard for television today. *Star Trek: Discovery* isn’t just the finest Star Trek series produced so far; it also stands out as some of the strongest science fiction currently available. The production values are high, giving it a film-like quality, and it's remarkably inventive, engaging, and visually stunning when compared to earlier versions of *Star Trek*. It offers something new: a group of well-crafted characters with depth who encounter different challenges while still honoring Gene Roddenberry’s core principles. It seems like some of the familiar, predictable character types have been moved aside in favor of portraying a broader spectrum of human experience, and I see that as a positive thing.
