Synopsis

The silence had stretched, taut and heavy, for a month since St. Eligius had been shuttered. Now, a new chapter began. The Ecumena Corporation, spearheaded by its medical director Dr. John Gideon, reopened the doors. Elsewhere, Dr. Craig received an intriguing proposition: to design an artificial heart. His colleagues, in a lighthearted jab, christened the project the "Craig 5000."
