Synopsis

The fiftieth anniversary stirred memories for Morrison: the hospital's opening in 1935 under Father Joseph McCabe’s guidance, the arrival of Helen Rosenthal, newly emigrated, and Mark’s return as chief of surgery. He recalled Mark’s bypass on Patrick O'Casey, and the sorrow of Maureen Westphall's passing. Now, a challenging diagnosis weighed on him, compounded by the agonizing loss of Pete to a kidnapper.
