The premise of "Squid Game" isn’t groundbreaking, but the execution makes it worth experiencing. It wasn't an instant grab for me; I didn’t find it as immediately engaging as many others did. The first season felt inventive, vibrant, and somewhat unsettling. Combining childhood games with violent acts was inherently uncomfortable, naturally. I feel that the initial season is considerably stronger than the second. Season two feels repetitive, lacking the captivating elements present in the earlier one. I also found the inclusion of overt diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in season two to be unwelcome. Ultimately, I think "Squid Game" functioned best as a limited series. Having seen all of season one and most of season two, I struggle to find significant differences between them. By all means, watch season one but my opinion is that the second season doesn’t contribute much of substance. I would give season one a rating of 7/10 and season two a 6/10.
