It would be beneficial for Disney to take note of this production. It avoids being overly progressive, doesn’t attempt to preach to viewers, and makes no effort to criticize any particular group—whether they are white, heterosexual, male, conservative, Christian, Jewish, or another demographic frequently targeted by those on the left who claim to champion tolerance. Similarly, it doesn't overtly favor right-wing ideologies, which is rare in Hollywood; I’m not interested in seeing political viewpoints of either extreme represented in my leisure activities—I simply desire a distraction from reality. It successfully sidesteps contemporary politics and caters to a broad audience. Regarding the creative process, Nicolas Cage stated that "Boogie" served as his inspiration, but initially, his performance strongly resembled Jimmy Stewart’s portrayal in “Call Northside 777,” particularly during the first four episodes. Later on, elements of Humphrey Bogart's style become apparent, as he indicated. Regardless, it proves to be an enjoyable experience. The black-and-white cinematography is appealing, and while the music isn't exceptional—it’s not unpleasant but occasionally feels out of place—it’s easily ignored. The shift to color detracts from the noir atmosphere; some hues are too vibrant and emphasize a comic book aesthetic, disrupting the overall tone, and when viewed consecutively, the change seems abrupt between episodes. The series deviates from the source material in certain aspects: Spider-Clone Ben replaces Peter Parker, and Cage’s character is depicted as a veteran of World War I instead of his uncle, although he portrays an older version than what's shown in the comics—a detail that ultimately works to its advantage. Ultimately, it delivers a diverting limited series designed purely for entertainment and escapism, which is precisely what audiences seek from their leisure time—nothing more.
