Synopsis

In the South Pacific, the notion of a truly deserted island simply doesn’t exist. Though some may be the most remote places on earth, each of the region’s twenty thousand islands has known human presence – from New Guinea, where birds of paradise flourish and a tribe performs a harrowing initiation rite that transforms young men into 'crocodile' men, to Fiji, French Polynesia, and Hawaii.
