This series feels like "Groundhog Day," but with a noticeably weaker cast. The main performer resembles J-Lo or Halle Berry in her earlier work, when she had an undeniable presence—something that seems diminished now. It’s clear the other actors were chosen to avoid overshadowing her, and combined with a less than impressive script, the result is pretty dull. I understand the desire to prolong a time-loop concept to prevent it from feeling repetitive, but without quality production values, capable performers, or a strong story, you really need to move things along quickly. Otherwise, you end up with something like this. "Dark Matter" serves as an example of how to do it right: unusual actors who aren't particularly engaging on screen, poor special effects and action sequences due to budget constraints, yet it’s still entertaining because the plot moves at a rapid pace while borrowing from Star Trek. If you are going to imitate something, make sure you do it well.
