I’d call Somebody inarticulate and strange. While I usually enjoy South Korean television shows, this one doesn't quite work for me, falling short in several connected areas. There isn't a clear overarching plot, which is compounded by the disconnected storytelling and vague, frequently underdeveloped characters. It also has an unfortunate tendency to feel preachy, leaving me with a sense of being talked down to instead of simply enjoying myself. The few aspects where this series manages to succeed, according to my view, are the central concept and the performances. The initial social media/crime-related premise is genuinely intriguing and had potential, which could have been realized through a more restrained approach to the resulting storyline. The acting quality is high as well; the characters feel authentic, though they're hard to connect with. Ultimately, this series feels overly experimental and ambitious, ultimately hindering its own progress. It might have been successful if it had a more conventional plot, narrative flow, and character arcs.
