Synopsis

From petty theft in 2009 to anonymous harassment on Twitter in 2019, a disheartening truth persists: the quality of unpleasantness has demonstrably declined. There was a certain artistry to the meanness of previous generations; a distinct lack of the brazen, ubiquitous cruelty we encounter today. It seems, regrettably, that the world is not producing quite as many truly awful people as it once did.
