It’s remarkable, really. The premise was firmly rooted in science fiction, which essentially gave the writers license to place the characters wherever they needed them. Like with all great science fiction, as they traveled between different realities, the writers would select a viewpoint—whether it be philosophical, political, religious, cultural, or economic—and explore it through exaggeration... …before shifting focus to another, and then another, and yet another. Basically, the show was designed to fulfill the purpose of science fiction, which explains its popularity. It’s PURE SCIENCE FICTION. You could easily draw parallels between this and The Twilight Zone, and the comparison would be fitting.
