I'm honestly surprised this show ran for as long as it did. I genuinely enjoyed it. I believed it was quite entertaining... but it seemed determined to emulate many of the other shows airing at the time. *Grimm* was probably the most successful of the franchises trying to capitalize on *Supernatural*'s popularity. However, unlike those others, *Sleepy Hollow* had a certain darkness, an atmosphere, and managed to create a world that felt just slightly different from our own. That made a real difference. It handled the time travel storyline with style and creativity; it was genuinely scary for something on network television. It had the feel of a well-produced low-budget film. You could tell pretty much right away that it was headed for failure, as is often the case when less impressive shows take over.
