It turned out to be quite funny, really leaning into the style of detective and police dramas from the seventies and eighties. The show did an impressive job poking fun at those programs, nailing all the familiar elements with a level of over-the-top humor that makes me wonder if *Sledge Hammer!* is why we don't have more shows like it today. Regardless, the frequent use of "hilarious" in descriptions is well deserved; it was clever and didn’t last long enough.
