Synopsis

The wedding night of the young couple proved a disappointment, and Sisi found herself needing Fanny's counsel as never before. Yet, Countess Esterhazy revealed Fanny to be an imposter, resulting in her banishment from court. It was only during their honeymoon in Laxenburg that Sisi and Franz gradually rediscovered their connection. At her first formal reception as empress, Sisi astonished all with her fluency in Hungarian and the graciousness with which she received the Hungarian nobility.
