I’ve always felt more connected to Rick; he evoked feelings similar to those I have about my own relatives. A.J., on the other hand, seemed like someone from a family who wasn't present when support was needed. Despite that, both characters were compelling and stood out within a series of television programs from the 1980s centered around detectives...and honestly, it would be wonderful to see something like that return—I’d gladly exchange all the current police dramas for those shows. Regardless, the program has largely faded from memory, which is unfortunate because it offered an excellent portrayal of how siblings argue and clash while maintaining a bond. It's more insightful than most people realize, but ultimately, its sheer entertainment value is what makes it worthwhile.
