I was really struck by Mythomane, having just watched Sick Note beforehand—they share a similar premise. One aims to be a drama, while this one functions as a comedy. The other is poorly constructed and gets tangled up in its own storylines; this one has superb writing. To be sure, there are some noticeable flaws in the script. For instance, if the American is deceased in the office, you’d expect the alarm to be turned off. Instead, it's not only on but someone even sets it off—it’s like a ghostly occurrence since there's no indication of who or why. Regardless, the writing itself holds up well. The performances are unexpectedly strong, especially considering the cast consists largely of lesser-known actors. And the episodes flow together nicely; despite some slower moments in the second season, it doesn't feel stretched out to fill two seasons.
