Synopsis

From a London lodging-house, Mrs. Warren brings to Holmes a peculiar tale concerning a tenant of singular habits and withdrawn demeanor. Her husband had been taken, only to be swiftly returned, a circumstance she suspects might be the result of a simple error. Holmes, however, perceives a significance beyond the obvious, deciding the matter warrants deeper investigation.
