Synopsis

A murder has occurred, and Mr. Holmes is summoned to the case. Lady Brackenstall claims to have witnessed a gang of men kill her husband, the domineering Sir Eustace; however, upon his arrival, the matter appears to be concluded. Yet, Holmes remains troubled and returns to the crime scene, finding inconsistencies beneath the surface. Meanwhile, Watson is intrigued by the lady's secret – a passionate affair with a sea captain undertaken during a lengthy voyage.
