Synopsis

Violet Smith had recently begun her duties as music teacher to Robert Carruthers, residing during the week at his country home. Troubled by a recurring feeling of being watched – a man on a bicycle who shadowed her weekly journey to the station – she sought out the counsel of Holmes. During a moment of romantic advance, Carruthers proposed marriage; however, Holmes perceived a disturbing link between the gentleman and Miss Smith’s persistent pursuer.
