I wasn’t expecting much from another Marvel television program, since most of their previous attempts haven't been particularly good. This one follows that pattern; it seems to miss what made the Marvel movies work—a hero who is genuinely engaging and enjoyable without needing to be constantly presented as perfect, someone with a believable development throughout the story. It appears Disney once again chose not to employ skilled writers for this series, admitting they don’t know how to write legal stories, yet they're producing a comedy based on law (though what they’ve produced barely qualifies as humorous) without any understanding of how to do so—and that lack of knowledge is evident in the plot. The visual effects seem slightly better than shown in the previews, but not by much; it still looks rather low-budget, particularly when it comes to She-Hulk's appearance. The one genuinely positive aspect of this series is Tatiana Maslany, who’s quite charming and a talented actress. Sadly, even her abilities can’t compensate for the poor writing and awful "jokes" that drag the show down. Disney continues to release low-quality content on their streaming service, so avoid getting frustrated and angry—just skip this series. Instead, watch something better written and more entertaining like Solar Opposites (available on Disney+ or Hulu) or Invincible (on Prime). If you’re looking for a well-made live-action superhero show, The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker spin-off are both fun and engaging with solid writing. If you're still curious about She-Hulk, seek out John Byrne’s comic run from the 1980s—it features an excellent progressive story and impressive artwork that makes the Disney+ series look pretty bad in comparison; that’s what they should have drawn inspiration from to make this TV show successful.
