Synopsis

A series of misfortunes soon descended upon Ilara. First came the sudden death of the King's daughter, and the bereaved monarch sought counsel from the royal priest. The priest then recounted to King Adedunjoye a tale of past wickedness: his ancestors had murdered seven wives to prolong their own lives. He further revealed that they had enlisted the aid of a dangerous individual named Esuru.
