Synopsis

Dante, the Italian poet, designated pride as the "Chief of All Sins," equating it to the very essence of Satan. This transgression has been denounced throughout history, condemned by the Bible and the philosopher Socrates, yet embraced as the highest virtue by both the Romans and the Vikings. It is believed that pride precipitated Satan's downfall, though paradoxically, the most enduring narrative of the fallen angel is not found within the sacred texts.
