I’m glad I eventually discovered this series; it was genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. I regret not watching it when it initially aired, but my brother and I stumbled upon an episode once. We had seen Jerry on television before—this was back when TV access wasn't as widespread—and the show quickly became my favorite thing on television. I tried to watch as often as possible, but it never felt like enough. Eventually, after several years, I purchased the complete DVD collection and watched all the episodes in order, including the bonus material. It’s fantastic. This was one of the first shows that came to mind where following the episodes sequentially was essential for understanding what was going on. There was a time when television programs felt more self-contained; you could watch them out of order without feeling lost or like you were missing something. Those days are gone. I know some people just didn’t understand it—meaning the humor characteristic of Seinfeld and David—but that's likely because they weren't willing to commit to watching an entire episode to give it a proper chance. How can someone truly appreciate it if they mispronounce "Seinfeld"? It really takes persistence to keep saying “SeinFIELD” even after repeated corrections.
