The folks at "MovieGuys" seemed completely shocked by seeing three female characters in the first episode! Episode 2 is essentially just the Sifu video game, while episode 3 focuses primarily on white male characters. Episode 4 features a robot uprising, but episode 5 stands out as my favorite so far—though wow, there's a black Space Marine! A black Space Marine?! I guess robot revolutions are now considered politically progressive, and of course, a black Space Marine is also progressive, since we’ve never seen anyone of color in Warhammer before. And naturally, learning to appreciate your "subjects/friends" as a King is just as shocking. The amount of prejudiced, misogynistic criticism I'm seeing these days is genuinely disheartening. People are saying, “It’s just my opinion! I’m not racist! You’re being racist against white people! Africans enslaved other Africans too! Slavery, rape, and genocide are totally acceptable if a Christian does them!” I don’t think that was excessive. I'M TIGRESS! I dislike the cliff-hanger endings where it feels like you’ve “found a secret level.” I also am not quite certain what is intended to be groundbreaking here—it seems like "Love, Death & Robots" with video games, which isn't inherently bad; I'm just finding myself already bored, even though I'm only on episode 5 and have enjoyed it more than the others (because it’s Warhammer). I’m probably making it sound worse than it really is. Sorry about that. If you liked "Love, Death & Robots," you will likely find some entertainment here, although you might need to adjust the brightness settings for those darker episodes. I may update this review if and when I watch more. We'll be breaking things down episode by episode, starting with episode 6: Episode 6 - PAC-MAN: Circle This one is good. There’s a lot of foreshadowing, but the ending still caught me off guard. My only complaints are about who designed that sword—the handle looks like it would sever the wielder's hand! Also, why in the world would you cook the head of an animal when you have a body and sword to cut the flesh? I understand the visual appeal of the head over the fire, but it doesn’t make sense. Episode 7 - Crossfire: Good Conflict To be continued... Episode 8 - Armored Core: Asset Management What exactly is going on here? Mechs fighting mechs and… a psychopath who isn't concerned with the job details or the fact that he's not unique. Are we just watching this for the photorealistic graphics and Keanu Reeves? I love Keanu Reeves, but his last video game project was Cyberpunk 2077, which turned out to be a disaster when it became clear that CDPR had been lying at every stage of development, delivering a game that felt like Vice City with a cyberpunk makeover—but with more bugs and anti-consumer practices.
