Synopsis

Working backward from the present, Scarpetta and Benton formulated a dangerous strategy intended to lure the serial killer into the open. Now, she directed that the deceased jogger be exhumed, certain of a link between her death and the most recent victim. Simultaneously, at their home, the accumulating secrets and deceptions shared by Kay and Benton reached a critical juncture.
