Synopsis

Before the assembled crowd, Kambei wrested control from his executioner. However, any further defiance was swiftly quelled by Ukyo's announcement: the samurai would be pardoned, and the abducted women released. This fortunate turn of events coincided precisely with Katsushiro's arrival to effect their rescue. What purpose does Ukyo truly serve?
