Synopsis

This week's reading encompasses Mark 7 and the opening portion of Mark 8. From the outset of chapter seven, Jesus provokes disagreement through his critique of established religious practices. Yet, his opposition is framed in a manner that powerfully affirms a principle profoundly pertinent to the lives of Christians even now.
