Synopsis

Twenty years had passed since Chicken George last set foot on the Lea farm. His return was not a welcome one; his son, Tom, carried a deep-seated resentment toward him. George and Cyrus enlisted together in the Memphis Colored Battery. After the war's conclusion, Tom returned home, seeking to build a future with his family.
