Synopsis

George rose to prominence as a skilled trainer of gamecocks, eventually earning the moniker "Chicken George." He married Matilda, the daughter of a local preacher, and they had a large family. Tom Lea, after losing a bet to an Englishman, was forced to sell George to alleviate the financial strain on his farm.
