Synopsis

Against the backdrop of a fierce uprising, the slave ship Lord Ligonier finally reached its destination, and Kunta Kinte faced the humiliation of being sold at auction in Annapolis. Fiddler, the enslaved man tasked with training him, became his sole companion; a bond strained to its limits when Kunta resolved to escape.
