Synopsis

Ignoring Pullo’s counsel, Vorenus and his family return to the Collegium, where they are joyfully reunited and seemingly purged of their recent suffering. Octavian is denied the triumph he craved and implores Cicero to support his candidacy for Consul, promising in return that Cicero’s veto power would be respected. Octavian's inaugural act as Consul catches both Cicero and the Senate off guard. Vorenus makes a tentative effort to reconcile with Memmio, while Cotta subtly cultivates an impressio
