If you’re considering watching the **Redo of Healer** (_Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi_) anime series, a word of caution is necessary: this isn't intended for sensitive viewers. The fact that it isn’t categorized as Hentai simply reflects the absence of explicit depictions of sexual activity; however, there are numerous scenes with very clear implications. Graphic abuse is prevalent throughout the show, and no gender is spared. Having given you fair warning... The story doesn't follow the typical isekai formula but instead focuses on individuals within a fantasy setting who possess special abilities. Unfortunately, some people misuse their power, inflicting harm upon the future protagonist. The cruel actions of these gifted individuals, coupled with their favored status among royalty and other aristocratic figures, allow them to act sadistically without consequence. Beyond depicting the abuse suffered by the central character at the hands of these “heroes,” the series also explores the disturbing fetishes that motivate some of them. One male hero has a predatory interest in young boys; another female hero is a lesbian who exploits vulnerable village girls through drugging and subsequent assault; and yet another man is portrayed as a typical rapist. The narrative revolves around the anti-hero seeking retribution for the atrocities committed against him and others, targeting these despicable individuals. His plans extend beyond those he deems responsible, encompassing the king and his kingdom, who sided with the “heroes” based on false accusations leveled against him. He understands that achieving his goals will require assistance, so he either recruits allies from among the defeated heroes or acquires them as slaves. This aspect of the series is a source of discomfort for some viewers described as "coddled," "woke," or "snowflakes." The wolf girl slave the anti-hero purchases appears quite young. To maintain team cohesion, the anti-hero keeps all women involved with him in a harem arrangement. Certain cultural elements might be considered awkward by some, but it’s important to view them within the context of the series. It's fantasy; the wolf girl is a beast person or demi-human. Their behavior and perspectives are revealed through watching the show itself. If you draw incorrect conclusions based on your preconceived notions, that responsibility lies with you. Disliking something doesn’t make it inherently bad. You have the option to simply not watch it, as I did with _Overlord_, a series many people enjoy despite its inconsistencies. The series is frequently described as controversial, but I don't see why. Watch it yourself and form your own opinion. I enjoyed it and am hoping for a second season to resolve the plot threads.
