I didn’t care for the 80s cartoon as a child; I found the premise of protecting color and having a villain who wanted everything monochrome to be silly. It simply wasn't something I enjoyed. However, even then, the animation had some appeal. This version just feels low-budget. The colors are decent—given that they’re central to the narrative—but the artwork resembles what an inexperienced student might create while doodling in class. That level of quality persists throughout the entire production. Despite its efforts to appear badly animated, the story is somehow even less impressive.
