Synopsis

He was a Dutch banker, the originator of the Rhätische Bahn, a narrow-gauge railway winding through the Swiss canton of Graubünden in eastern Switzerland. One of its routes stretched from Chur, past Davos, and into Italy, pausing at Tirano. This is the story of him and his railway, part one.
