Synopsis

The predawn darkness found Quincy roused at four in the morning by a visitor to his boat. The man was gravely ill, and despite Quincy’s efforts, he succumbed before any help could be rendered. He transported the body to the morgue and began an autopsy. The following morning, Quincy discovered with considerable surprise that his findings and prepared slides were nowhere to be found.
