Synopsis

The prospect of surgery filled Punky with a deep-seated terror. More than that, she felt a sharp resentment at the delay it imposed on the vacation she and Cherie, Brandon, Betty, and Henry had eagerly anticipated. The trip had been weeks in the making, a joyful escape now stalled by the sudden onset of appendicitis and its painful consequences.
