The premise is appealing: two mercenaries tasked with discrediting UFO sightings, only to discover they’re being manipulated and the Air Force is concealing something. The initial episodes seemed promising in exploring this idea. However, a significant problem arises with the introduction of a subplot involving a suspicious wife and Russian spies. This feels like poorly executed filler—predictable and uninspired. It's clear that creative difficulties are at play when trying to stretch the content to fill an entire hour. While I’ve appreciated Laura Mennell in previous roles, her portrayal of Mimi is grating; it’s completely unbelievable. The inclusion of Russian spies seems arbitrary, adding nothing substantial. I strongly suggest the writers eliminate this unnecessary and tedious subplot because it simply doesn't function effectively. The events within this side story have no connection to the main narrative and contribute very little overall, serving only to make Mimi appear suspicious and distressed—a consequence that feels insignificant. A better example can be found in *The X-Files*, which avoided resorting to cheap, drawn-out subplots. UPDATE: Having reached the end of Season 2, I implore them to remove those women entirely; their presence is just sad. They offer nothing positive to the series and genuinely detract from the viewing experience—and it's that bad. The show remains average, and while I still want to watch it, I now find myself only tuning in when I have no other options, frequently skipping ahead whenever those two characters are speaking nonsense. If a third season is approved, please write them out!
