Synopsis

For nearly a century, the people of Salamanca, New York, have leased the land beneath their homes from the Seneca Nation for an average of one dollar a year – a provision established by a congressional mandate. With the lease nearing its end, a century of economic terms must now be revisited. The future of this American town and the Senecas' claim to equitable treatment seem inextricably linked.
