Synopsis

Nadia Murad, a young Yazidi woman of twenty-three, endured genocide and the brutal enslavement inflicted by ISIS. In recounting her ordeal to political leaders and the press, this once-anonymous girl has unexpectedly become the voice of her community, finding herself positioned on the global stage. Yet, removed from the glare of public attention, she must now navigate the complexities of bureaucracy, the unfamiliar territory of fame, and the often-unintended consequences of well-meaning people.
