Synopsis

Over half a million Cambodians seek work overseas, yet a shocking third fall prey to enslavement. Often, these victims are young women, imprisoned and compelled to labor under appalling conditions, sometimes as sex workers. In his film, French-Cambodian director Guillaume Suon offers a stark and revealing portrayal of the poverty, hopelessness, and avarice that drive this brutal contemporary trade in human beings.
