When Chicago filmmaker Joanna Rudnick received a positive result for the "breast cancer gene" at the age of twenty-seven, she understood the information offered a chance at life. She also knew she was facing not only an early confrontation with mortality, but also agonizing choices about the future she envisioned. Would she choose the irreversible path of preventative mastectomy and oophorectomy, or gamble with the risk of cancer? How would this affect her
