Synopsis

The season premiere of the show focuses on "Traces of the Trade: A Story From the Deep North," a journey into the past undertaken by filmmaker Katrina Brown. She investigates her ancestors, the DeWolf family of Rhode Island, who profited from the slave trade. Accompanied by nine relatives, including Tom DeWolf, author of "Inheriting the Trade," Brown retraces the historic routes of their family's commerce, visiting sites in Bristol, Rhode Island, as well as Ghana and Cuba.
