Synopsis

Alan Lomax was known as "the song hunter." He dedicated his life to preserving the world's folk melodies, capturing them before the burgeoning modern music industry could consign them to oblivion. In *Lomax the Songhunter*, filmmaker Rogier Kappers endeavors to recount Lomax’s life through interviews with friends like Pete Seeger, interwoven with archival recordings of musical giants Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly. The film also incorporates footage of the cotton fields, rock quarries, and prisons
